I have a happy mug. I mentioned it in the list I posted yesterday, and I said I would tell more about it. It's called that because the way I painted it makes me think happy and cheerful thoughts, especially on Mondays at 6:30 am during the school year when it's full of hot tea and I want to curl back up and sleep. The happy mug is bigger than most run-of-the-mill mugs, which only adds to its splendor.
I painted it 5 or 6 years ago when the Corbins took me to the Pottery Place, a little store/workshop thing where they let you glaze a piece of pottery, for my birthday.
Here's some pictures:
It looks happier in real life, but the real inside of the mug looks like I used the wrong paintbrush for the job, because I did, but it still turned out pretty well.

I wonder, could you be synesthetic? I have always wanted to find a synesthete.
ooo it's pretty :-)... Why do you have so many different types of mad skills? lol
Katie: Are you Fershiggity Katie, or another Katie?
Josh: After looking up synesthetic on the handy dandy wikipedia, I suppose I could be somewhat synesthetic. I often immediately associate color or shape combinations with emotions, and I have been known to connect people and personalities to months (the wiki article mentions that). There are also certain numbers which are "bad" and "good" just because some quality of the number somehow makes me think of it that way. For instance, 7 is bad. So is 5. 9 and 12 on the other hand are very good, and sometimes 12 is inherently green in my mind, and 9 is black. But I don't know if I qualify for being a full-fledged synesthete. I definitely don't go as far as some other people in the article (one person thinks every letter has a specific color and they can't think of the letter without thinking of the color), but my reactions are automatic and often don't make any sense if I think about them like a "normal" person would.
Wow, Maria. Our minds are very similar. Though 9 seems bad to me.
I remember a time when I was in elementary school thinking about these sorts of correlations in my mind, wondering if anyone else could relate.
