Every Book Dork's Dream
I visited the Main Branch Public Library for Hamilton County downtown today. So many books... Not enough time to look at them all, let alone read them. I was in reading geek heaven (although they didn't have a book I was looking for or a series someone had recommended). I think I'll have to find a way to go adventuring there every once in a while. Too bad it's downtown. Bah to cities. Put it in an uninhabited forest and I'd live there if I could.

Leading and Becoming Less of a Control Freak
It's impossible to lead people who won't be led. It's also impossible to lead people if you haven't asked God to send you people willing to be led.
I've been attempting to become more of a leader among the girls in the youth group for over a year now. The current girls' group that just started up in the youth group is my third attempt at starting/helping lead a discipleship group (my first was with the youth group and the second at school), and as you can probably guess, they fell through. I thought this one was dying too when there were only four people at our last meeting and I was the only high schooler. On Wednesday I was talking to Jenny Miller about it, and she assured me that something would work out, even if it was only the two of us. It finally occurred to me, that maybe praying would help (duh, Maria!). So I did. And on Friday Jenny told me we had twelve girls signed up for our next devotional book! Yay God!
So the moral of my story is, we (myself included) really need to stop depending on my natural abilities and let God take over. Especially when I'm dealing with people, because I tend to have natural disabilities with humans rather than abilities. And also that prayer works.
-Proverbs 3:5-6
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
-1 Peter 5:6-7
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
-PS: To any of the girls who may read this, please don't take it as an attack on you. That's not the way I'm trying to sound at all. I'm very grateful for all of you and I love you all.

A New Blogger Is Born!
Hey people. I've deciding to try my hand at blogging. Fortunately, it's quite easy. And that's saying something for me since I tend to be somewhat technologically inept. You may be asking "why not facebook, or myspace, or some other popular blog?" Because I'm just too unique for them. Well, it's mostly my computer has a psycho firewall on it since all my younger sisters use this computer and get on the internet a lot, and it won't let me on the other blog sites because apparently they have personals on them and my lametarded computer won't let me visit sites with personals. Sigh... But I can understand my parents wanting to have a strict firewall for my elementary aged sisters. So I just have to live with it.
Anyway, welcome to my blog. Hopefully I actually remember it exists and post random things from time to time.
